A good Samaritan didn’t hesitate to rescue a woman who was stranded on top of her submerged car on a flooded Atlanta street. Mary Brathwaite says she and her husband were on their way to pick up their daughter when they spotted the driver trapped in the rising water. “I told my husband to stop and go save her,” she said. “He got out and went and got her!” The National Weather Service had warned Atlanta residents not to travel through floodwaters as severe flooding hit the area.
