The 1961 National Football League Championship Game was the first NFL championship game held in Green Bay. The game was a match-up of the Eastern Conference champion New York Giants (10–3–1) and the Western Conference champion Green Bay Packers (11–3). The game pitted the visiting New York Giants (11–3) of the Eastern Conference against the Chicago Bears (11–1–2) of the Western Conference. With a game time temperature of under 10 °F, the Bears would defeat the Giants 14-10.
