One of the most iconic speeches in film history.In Jaws (1975), Quint’s famous monologue about the USS Indianapolis was not in Peter Benchley’s original novel but created specifically for the film.The idea came from Howard Sackler, who wrote a short draft of about three-quarters of a page. John Milius then expanded it into a 10‑page version. Finally, actor Robert Shaw, who played Quint, revised and trimmed it down to about four pages. This became the final version used in the movie.
