In this clip we see people quarrying the rock with hand chisels and "gentle gunpowder" to break it into 100 pound (45 kilo) lumps to be transformed into curling stones. Despite the narration of the video (possibly correct at the time of making), there are in fact 2 sources of the right type of granite for curling stones - the other being the Trefor Granite Quarry
