At least 2,700 years old, this bronze statue of a man and centaur is attributed to a Laconian Geometric workshop of Greece, and is possibly from Olympia. It depicts a man with locked arms with a centaur, and has traces showing that the man’s eyes may have once been inlaid with silver and the centaur’s eyes may have been inlaid with reddish iron. The group stands on a decorated base with a double zigzag pattern. It measures 11.1 cm (4 3/8 in) in height. This artifact is now housed at The Metropol
