The Old World Sparrows (family Passeridae) are small, adaptable birds found across Europe, Africa, and Asia. The most well-known species is the House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), but there are many others, like the Eurasian Tree Sparrow and the Spanish Sparrow. Despite their name, Old World sparrows are not closely related to New World sparrows (which belong to a different family, Passerellidae).
