Ospreys are a common bird of prey that can be found throughout Florida year-round. Commonly called the “fish hawk,” these raptors possess a unique adaptation of a reversible outer toe and barbed pads on their feet that allow them to easily grip slippery fish while hunting. This Osprey (23-2449) was transported by a Davie resident when they discovered the bird was hit by a car. An intake exam confirmed a small abrasion on the left wing but no other major injuries or fractures. This patient was ad
