🏈On December 3, 1983 in the 48th Iron Bowl, the 19th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide met the 3rd ranked Auburn Tigers at Legion Field in Birmingham. The game started in warm sunshine after a stormy night of very heavy rains that caused severe flooding in the Birmingham area. Over 9 inches of rain fell at the National Weather Service Forecast Office, which was on Oxmoor Road at the time. The game is remembered for Auburn superstar Bo Jackson’s 71 yard touchdown run to make the score 23-20. The play
