I really liked “Up In The Air”. At the time of its release I thought it had a good chance at Best Picture. Others scoffed. Watching it again yesterday I was reminded of the themes that were interesting to me. The movie captured the times. I am not aware of another film that better depicted the “Great Recession” and resulting layoffs.
Thoughts on the film 'Up In The Air'? : r/movies - Reddit
Up In The Air is one of the reasons that I think that Clooney is actually a great actor (people get too caught up in him being a celebrity and he doesn't always do great movies) with the other big one being The Descendants and was also the first time I was really impressed with Anna Kendrick. The movie is a little on the subtle, small side.
Just saw "Up in The Air", any thoughts on the film? : r/movies
Sep 26, 2015 · It is true to its characters and leaves you an empty feeling inside because of it. My SO was depressed becaus eof the ending but I argued thats counter to the point the movie is trying to make. Throughout the whole movie he fires person after person an they were left 'Up in the Air' he offers them a new beginning at their lowest point.

Mar 24, 2024 · But it's really about transition, right? Up in the Air.... they might go hand in hand. Change and pain. We see that with Kendrick. We also see her grow and succeed. We also see Clooney being dragged through change. However, his leap of faith falls flat. When the movie ends, I think he's still in the transition, he's still Up in the Air.
Thoughts about Jason Rietman's "Up in the Air" - Reddit
I knew Up in the Air wouldn't win, but I think it was my favorite of the contenders too. Edit: Just looked it up. Other nominees included Inglourious Basterds, Up, Distrcit 9, and A Serious Man. Talk about a great year for movies!
What are your thoughts on the film "Up In The Air" with George
Jan 28, 2015 · I actually just rewatched it for the first time in awhile today on TV. There's just something about Up in the Air that I just really connect with. My favorite movies are Reservoir Dogs and Pan's Labyrinth but something about Up in the Air makes it feel like it connects with me despite any of its flaws. Same with Into the Wild actually.
Official Discussion - Air [SPOILERS] : r/movies - Reddit
The name ‘Air Jordan’ growing on him, the original Dimension 6 name… some excellent real life touches that showed how well researched the writing was. Most importantly, “Who would want to watch Charles Barkley on TV?”, foreshadowing the most beloved NBA analyst of our time, and other little touches like Stockton, Ewing and more were ...
Up in the Air (2009) is surprisingly excellent film! : r/movies - Reddit
Dec 3, 2019 · [Suggestion] Up jn the Air (2009)- George Cloony plays a guy who makes a living traveling around the country, firing people. Genuinely funny, touching without being too heavy handed, and it has some of the best cameos I've ever seen. Perfect if you want something more down to Earth (irony intended)
What’s your take on “Up in the Air” (2009) : r/movies - Reddit
May 12, 2020 · I loooove Up in the Air, but it’s very much carried by the witty writing. Reitman took a bit of a bad turn, but his works pre 2010 all work great for me. Reitman has this really snappy way of writing dialogue in a fictional world, and Clooney is the perfect lead for him. It definitely comes down to taste though.

Oct 2, 2023 · Genuinely surprised by this movie, had a lot of actors I never would’ve guessed they’d be here. Touched on some deep, uncomfortable topics of life and thought it was addressed very well. Love George Clooney as always, refreshing to see Danny McBride in a character like that - small as it was , and a great job done by Anna Kendrick!
