Tenby has a reputation for clean beaches and currently has three Blue Flag beaches. For the more adventurous there are regular boat trips from the harbour over to Caldey Island which in 1997 was designated a conservation area which highlights the special nature of the island.

A number of boats run to Caldey Island from Tenby Harbour from Easter to October. Caldey Island is closed on Sundays. Tickets can be obtained from the Caldey Island Kiosk in Tenby Harbour.
