The Supreme Court is ordering a New York court to take a new look at whether some religious organizations should be excluded from a state regulation requiring health insurance plans to cover abortions.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ordered a lower court in New York to reevaluate whether some religious organizations should be excluded from a state mandate that requires employers to provide employee health care plans that include abortion coverage.

The justices ruled that Tennessee’s law, which prohibited some medical treatments for transgender youths, did not violate equal protection principles.
