Karen Read, the Massachusetts woman accused of drunkenly striking her off-duty police officer boyfriend and leaving him to die in January 2022, was acquitted of the most serious charge of second-degree murder.

The jury found Karen Read guilty on a lesser charge but not guilty on the charges of second-degree murder and leaving the scene in John O’Keefe’s death.
