Over the course of a two year period Sultan drove to lumber yards and hardware stores in the Bay Area and Simi Valley, California, where every day hundreds of men waited for temporary employment.

The project, designed by the architecture studio Projekt Praga and selected in a 2017 architectural competition, was conceived from the outset as a place open to both the campus and the district.
