On Nov. 7, the same day the tree was removed from his yard during a small ceremony in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, Earl Albert, the man who donated the towering tree, suffered a stroke. Albert donated the tree to the Rockefeller Center Christmas celebration in the name of his late wife, Lesley, who passed away in 2020.
