Severe flooding linked to a major atmospheric river swept across California this week, resulting in widespread destruction.

Another wave of rain soaked parts of Southern California early Friday morning with more wet weather in the forecast. Flood watches were in effect for parts of the region, where already soaked hillsides prone to slides are picking up additional moisture from the storm fueled by an atmospheric river.

The National Weather Service Los Angeles, which covers Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, forecasts that parts of the county could see up to three inches of rain on Friday, Dec. 26.

Los Angeles County is under a flash flood warning which was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:38 a.m. The warning is in effect until noon.

At 8:53 a.m. on Thursday, the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA issued a flash flood warning in effect until 10:15 a.m. for Los Angeles.
