Flooding in Texas has already turned deadly earlier this week, when a 10-year-old girl was swept away in rising waters.

All of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi has at least a slight risk of scattered flash flooding Tuesday, including the New Orleans area and the northshore, according to the NWS. The highest risk will be in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, north of the I-10/I-12 corridor, where life-threatening flash-flooding is possible.

At 4:49 a.m., the doppler radar indicated thunderstorms were producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 8 inches of rain have fallen in the Acadiana area. An additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible through the rest of Wednesday.

The NWS Fort Worth TX issued a flash flood warning at 10:48 a.m. on Tuesday in effect until 2 p.m. The warning is for Collin, Dallas, Ellis and Rockwall counties.
