After winning an Emmy, Stephen Colbert spoke about creating a “show about love.” In its homestretch, “The Late Show” is fulfilling that promise.
Colbert also noted that it’s “a really big deal for networks to just hand over their primetime slots on such short notice.” He referenced CBS, in particular, explaining that the three-hour season finale of Survivor Season 49 was interrupted because of Trump.
The entertainment industry was stunned when CBS announced in July that the liberal-leaning "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" would end in 2026.
There was a somber tone across the late night shows on Monday night, as the hosts all took a moment to pay tribute to the late Rob Reiner, who was brutally killed over the weekend along with his wife Michele.
