Sunday is our next First Alert Weather Day. There will be plenty of clouds with rounds of showers and storms throughout the day tomorrow. Humidity spikes again, too, so any downpours will be capable of brief heavy rain. Localized spots of flash flooding are certainly possible wherever the heaviest cells move through.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City is in the midst of what is expected to be classified as the second official heat wave of the summer. In the days ahead, the threat of heat will give way to the threat of flooding as heavy downpours and potentially strong thunderstorms are forecast to soak the city.
Heat advisories are in effect from Monday to Wednesday across the Northeast, the National Weather Service said.
Torrential rains unleashed flash floods across NYC and the Tri-State area on Monday night, swamping roads, halting subway and train services, and grounding over 1,200 flights. Central Park recorded over 2 inches of rain per hour as storms stalled over the East Coast.
At 9:57 a.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service reported an air quality alert in effect until 10 p.m. for Oneida, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Tompkins, Madison and Cortland counties.
Scattered storms are back for Sunday afternoon, primarily between 1 and 7 p.m. Any activity eyeing the tri-state through the afternoon and evening could bring severe storms, damaging winds and flash flooding.
