Severe flash flood warnings were in effect for Lackawanna and Luzerne counties on Wednesday afternoon. Heavy rain and thunderstorms were reported across the two counties. Flooded basements have been reported in Dunmore.

Forecasters say some of the strong storm cells could generate rainfall rates of 1.5 to 2.5 inches per hour, which could result in rapid flooding on roads and near creeks or streams.

The National Weather Service extended flood warnings, some "until further notice," for parts of, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties.
