Republican Mike Balow won one seat on the MSU Board of Trustees, but a winner for the second seat remained undecided on Friday.

Two positions are open in Michigan State University's Trustees race in the 2024 November general election. Running as Democrats are Rebecca Bahar-Cook and Thomas Stallworth III. Republican candidates are Mike Balow and Julie Maday. The board has eight seats with eight-year term lengths.

Julie Maday, R-Novi, had 24.2% of the vote, but so did Rebecca Bahar-Cook, D-Lansing. Bahar-Cook was trailing by roughly 9,000 votes, a razor-thin margin in a statewide election.
