High tide is causing some coastal flooding in Howard Beach, Queens, and advisories are in place for other parts of NYC, New Jersey and Long Island.

King tides bring unusually high water levels, and they can cause local tidal flooding. Over time, sea-level rise is raising the height of tidal systems. Average daily water levels are rising along with the oceans. As a result, high tides are reaching higher and extending farther inland than in the past.

It's that time of year! As Fall approaches many of Florida's waterways are on the rise which also means an increased risk for flooding and dangerous beach conditions.
