Many places are offering free public events to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here's where you can find them in Ohio.

Family and others carrying on Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of equality, justice and nonviolent protest want Americans to remember that Monday's holiday is really about helping others.

Here are a list of events that honor civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his legacy, in and around Baltimore.

The Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission partnered with Lil Reds Athletics to host the Historic Ninth Street District Cleanup. Organizers said that volunteers of all ages arrived at 8 a.m. and worked from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The events will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a wreath laying at MLK Park, located at the triangle of Broad Street and Campbell Street.

On the third Monday of the month, federal, state and local governments, institutions and various industries recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Monday is MLK Day, and many businesses and services are closed in observance of the federal holiday to honor the civil rights icon.
