Alphabet-owned Waymo is teaming up with Avis to launch self-driving robotaxis in Dallas by 2026. Here’s what it means for Texas riders.

Google/Alphabet's autonomous driving unit Waymo has unveiled plans to introduce a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in Dallas, Texas, US, by 2026, with preliminary testing already in progress. Waymo has selected mobility solutions provider Avis Budget Group as its fleet operations partner in the city.

Waymo has announced plans to expand its robotaxi service to Dallas next year. This will make Dallas the second major Texas city for Waymo, following its move into Austin earlier this year.
