Vice President JD Vance was less than two minutes into a speech in Jaipur, India this week, when he had a question for one of his most trusted advisers. He had just visited the Akshardham Temple, he said,

Vance is killing two birds with one stone. Amid the tariff turbulence in Washington, D.C., Vance took a trip to New Delhi, India, in hopes of striking a trade deal. He also brought his family along and expects to see the Taj Mahal this week before flying back to the U.

He stated that President Trump aims to rebalance trade not just for India but also to pursue a stronger future with U.S. allies. Vance sees the agreement as helping create deeper, sustained collaboration among nations in energy, defense, and technology, which will be mutually beneficial to the U.S. and India.
