A tsunami warning has been issued for Hawaii, where waves set off by an 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Russia’s remote Far East are expected to arrive after 7 p.m. local time.

Hawaii is under a tsunami warning after one of the world's strongest earthquakes struck Russia's Far East, an 8.8-magnitude temblor. A four-foot tsunami wave was hitting Hawaii.

Hawaii Governor Josh Green has urged residents to evacuate all coastal areas immediately, warning that tsunami waves will "wrap around the islands."
