The Tesla and SpaceX tycoon has been given the green light to set up his own new city in south Texas – dubbed Starbase – after securing the backing of an overwhelming majority of locals, many of whom he employs.

Residents of a small south Texas town that's home to Elon Musk’s SpaceX have voted to incorporate into a new city.

"Starbase, Texas, is now a real city," said Elon Musk after a vote decided the future of his SpaceX workplace.
