More than 228,000 voters cast ballots in person or by mail by the end of Election Day in Onondaga County, according to the county Board of Elections. Turnout was 71%.

The 2024 presidential election set a record for the most number of early voters in Central New York, breaking records set in 2020.

Saturday, Oct. 26, is the start of early voting across New York and preparations are well in place to ensure this election season goes as smoothly as possible. Onondaga County will have 10 early voting locations open to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to get out to the polls and

Overall in Onondaga County, 57.1% of voters chose Harris and 40.9% of voters chose Trump. Harris performed best in the city of Syracuse and the eastern suburbs like Fayetteville and Manlius. Trump did best to the north and south of Syracuse in places like Cicero, parts of Lysander and Fabius.
