The Detroit Red Wings closed out the calendar year on a roll that has them sitting atop the Atlantic Division and tied for the most points in the Eastern Conference. The Red Wings scored twice in the first period Wednesday and held on to defeat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 at Little Caesars Arena.
