Minnesota Wild goalie Jesper Wallstedt has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for November. He achieved a perfect 6-0-0 record with an impressive 1.14 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage.

As the Minnesota Wild carry their momentum from a marvelous month of November to the next calendar page, they are being driven by a rookie goalie who is very much earning the nickname “The Wall.” Jesper Wallstedt made 33 saves to record his league-leading fourth shutout of the season in just 10 games as the Wild continued their torrid pace of late,

The Wild could split up Kaprizov and Boldy, and the Marcus Johansson-Eriksson Ek-Boldy line has been their main shutdown group. It allowed the likes of Foligno, Nico Sturm and Yakov Trenin to play together (when healthy).

The Edmonton Oilers (11-11-5) hosted the Minnesota Wild (15-7-5) on Tuesday night (Dec. 2). The Wild have been red-hot heading into this matchup, with an impressive 8-0-2 record in their last 10 games.

After a bleak October, Minnesota treated November as a dawning of a new year, going 11-1-2. They have a chance to surge in the standings in early December.

The Colorado Avalanche may very well be the most dominant team in the National Hockey League, but the Minnesota Wild proved to be hotter when the two met on Black Friday in St. Paul. Minnesota beat the Avs 3-2 in a shootout to extend its win streak to seven and unbeaten streak to 10 games.
