Category 3 Hurricane Rafael made landfall Wednesday in western Cuba, before weakening as it headed toward the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center said in its 10 p.m. EST Wednesday update that the storm was located about 80 miles west-northwest off Havana and about 135 miles west-southwest off Key West in Florida.
