Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said he discussed former Cincinnati Reds player and career hits leader Pete Rose with President Donald Trump at a meeting earlier in April and plans to rule on a request to end a permanent ban of Rose, who died last September.

The MLB Commissioner visited the president at the White House last month and the issue of Rose’s presence on the permanently ineligible list was among their topics of conversation.
