Edinburgh Zoo reckons it can present a rival to Thailand 's internet sensation Moo Deng as it has announced the birth of its own pygmy hippo.

Haggis, the pygmy hippo, was born on October 30 in Edinburgh Zoo, at the height of Moo Deng mania. The 'wee legend' has already made her mark.

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's Edinburgh Zoo announced their own tiny pygmy hippo, named Haggis, was born Oct. 30. The newborn, female calf is "doing well," according to zoo staff.

Despite all the attention, Edinburgh Zoo’s pygmy hippo house will be closed to the public for the time being, as the staff continues to monitor Haggis’s development.
