Boston Bruins leading scorer David Pastrnak left Monday night’s game against the Washington Capitals in the second period with an undisclosed upper-body injury and did not return.

Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak was deemed "unlikely to return" to Monday's game against the visiting Washington Capitals due to an upper-body injury.

“He’s a great shooter,” said Brad Marchand, who spoke with Wahlstrom before Saturday’s 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. “He has a very, very dangerous shot. He’s almost like a big Pasta the way he can shoot the puck. He’ll be a weapon in that aspect.”

With the Bruins in desperate need of a bounce-back game Saturday, Boston benefited from a much-needed takeover game from David Pastrnak.
