According to Daniel Popper of The Athletic, the Chargers placed the seldom-used unrestricted free agent tender on Dobbins on Tuesday: While the tender does not prevent Dobbins from signing with another team, doing so will count toward the compensatory draft pick formula for the Chargers and the team that signs him if it happens.

Utilizing the UFA tender also leaves the Chargers eligible to receive a compensatory pick should he go ahead and sign with a team before camp. Under the tenure, should Dobbins play under it in 2025 with the Bolts, he’ll earn $3.428 million which is a small bump from his salary this past season.

J.K. Dobbins rebounded from an injury-marred Baltimore stay to become the Bolts’ primary starter last season, but he has not signed anywhere as a free agent.
