Canada recorded a C$1.1 billion ($806 million) trade deficit in August as crude oil exports fell, driven mainly by lower prices for the commodity that is central to the country’s economy.

Canada recorded a bigger than expected trade deficit of C$1.1 billion ($806 million) in August, its sixth consecutive monthly shortfall, as imports rose while exports declined, Statistics Canada data showed on Tuesday.

Marriott International said it was bringing a new hotel brand, City Express by Marriott, to the U.S. and Canada, an affordable midscale brand.

Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR) announced the expansion of the City Express by Marriott brand into the United States and Canada. The hotel operator said the expansion marks its entry into the affordable midscale transient segment in the region.
