Lawyers for Karen Read are asking the presiding judge to let them file portions of their motion to dismiss the charges under seal. In court papers filed in Norfolk Superior Court, Read’s lawyers cited multiple reasons for their request to redact excerpts from their motion, which alleges “extraordinary governmental misconduct” in the case.

ARCCA was initially hired by the feds for their probe of this case and testified in Read’s first trial that John O’Keefe’s injuries did not appear to come from Read’s Lexus. Alessi confirmed the defense paid ARCCA, but Brennan maintains that should have shared publicly.
