An investigation is underway after a "CHP-involved collision" in Auburn on Wednesday, California Highway Patrol says.

Police are investigating a crash involving a California Highway Patrol officer off Interstate 80 in the Auburn area on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.According to CHP, around 1:45 p.m. a CHP officer on a motorcycle was exiting the off-ramp on I-80 when he was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle.

A crash involving the California Highway Patrol has closed the I-80 westbound offramp at Nevada St. in Auburn, causing traffic delays.
