Former Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) chief Luis Rubiales has been found guilty of sexually assaulting Women’s World Cup winner Jennifer Hermoso by kissing her on the lips during the on-field medal ceremony following Spain’s victory in 2023.

Former Spanish football supremo Luis Rubiales and national player Jennifer Hermoso are planning to appeal against Thursday's verdict in the "kiss" scandal which has rocked the women's game, various media reports said on Friday.

Luis Rubiales has been found guilty of sexual assault after kissing Jenni Hermoso without her consent at the Women’s World Cup final in 2023. A trial concluded on Thursday, with the former Spanish football chief being ordered to pay more than €10,000 (£8,274), having avoided the threat of a prison sentence.
