Wednesday night in Japan/Wednesday morning in the United States, the Dodgers wrapped up the two-game Tokyo Series sweep of the the Chicago Cubs (LAD 6, CHC 3). Shohei Ohtani gave the people at the Tokyo Dome what they wanted and slugged a home run to help Los Angeles to Wednesday's win.

Roki Sasaki flashed an elite mix of pitches, but also walked five batters, as the Dodgers completed a two-game sweep of the Cubs in the season-opening Tokyo Series.

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Roki Sasaki is officially a Major League Baseball player. The 23-year-old Sasaki flashed during his MLB debut Wednesday, allowing a hit and striking out three against the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo. Sasaki threw his first three pitches at 100 mph and didn’t allow a hit until the third inning.

Shohei Ohtani is widely regarded as the best player in Major League Baseball, and Ichiro Suzuki enters the Hall of Fame later this year, reminders that some of the top talent in American baseball is now Japanese.
