Strong winds place more than 24 million Americans under wildfire warnings on Thursday, as a powerful storm moves toward the Northeast, officials said.

Overnight lows cool to the mid-30s with winds out of the west at 5-10 mph. TOMORROW: A Red Flag warning has been issued until 7 PM Friday evening as wind gusts up to 40 mph remain possible. Skies become mostly cloudy with highs into the mid-60s.
