The New York Lottery announced the two winning tickets for the Oct. 5 drawing matched four white balls and the red Powerball. One winning ticket each was sold at ShopRite of Selden, located at 71 College Plaza in Selden, New York, and at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Rd., in Newburgh, New York.

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Power Play for $1, which will increase the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot and Match 5). There is also a 10x Power Play possibility when the jackpot is less than $150 million.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The big catch evaded these New York City-based Powerball players, but they’re still taking something home. A ticket rewarded one Powerball player $100,000 for the Sept. 21 drawing, lottery officials said over the weekend. It was sold at a store at 43-67 Kissena Blvd. in Flushing, Queens.

According to Ohio Lottery officials, a Powerball ticket purchased ahead of the Monday, Oct. 7 drawing matched four out of five numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000. Officials have not yet said where in Ohio the winning ticket was sold.

The lottery jackpot was an estimated $315 million with a cash option of $154.9 million for Monday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The jackpot was last won on Aug. 19 when a California lottery player won a $44.

A Powerball ticket sold in Connecticut won $50,000 in Monday night's drawing, according to CT Lottery. The numbers to match are 18-30-31-52-63 and the Powerball 22, with Power Play that doubles the prizes.
