Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City met in the UEFA Champions League at Parc des Princes on Wednesday in one of the most critical league phase games. The Ligue 1 titleholders and their English Premier League counterparts are both staring down the barrel at potential continental elimination after poor runs of form this European season.

Liverpool beat Lille 2-1 on Tuesday to maintain their perfect record in this season's Champions League and clinch qualification for the last 16, while Barcelona produced a stunning comeback to beat Benfica 5-4 in a classic to secure their own place.

That result allowed Liverpool to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points. Nunez has started all but two Champions League games so far this season and he could get the nod once again with Diogo Jota ruled out through injury.

Liverpool are top of both the Premier League and the Champions League tables and take on a Lille side also among the top eight in the UCL.

Liverpool play Lille in the Champions League on January 21. The clash takes place from Anfield Stadium. The Reds look to hold their place at the top of the UEFA Champions League table.
