It's only Week 4 of the college football season and already Billy Napier's back is to the proverbial wall. Napier, who is three games into his third season at the University of Florida, is 1-2 on the year and 12-16 overall in Gainesville.

Napier was hired in November 2021 partly because he had a detailed plan for the Gators to close the gap on Alabama and Georgia in the powerhouse Southeastern Conference, which would also restore the program’s status as a legitimate national championship contender after being mostly an afterthought over the previous decade.
