On Monday night, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter named two former Cowboys players who could be in the hunt for the job in Big D. They fit a route owner Jerry Jones has gone before with former head coach Jason Garrett.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was virtually interviewing for the Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching job. “America’s Team” and owner Jerry Jones are in the market for a new head coach after the historic franchise decided to not offer a contract extension to Mike McCarthy.

The Dallas Cowboys made two major moves this week that sent shockwaves through the NFL. The first one was parting ways with head coach Mike McCarthy. The second was speaking with Colorado's Deion Sanders about the vacant position.

Kellen Moore is reportedly a candidate to become Mike McCarthy's successor according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. While the Cowboys search has just begun, Moore is in the running for the job and he could end up as their coach for the 2025 season.

Jerry Jones' unwillingness to break the bank for a head coach could be a major obstacle for the Dallas Cowboys if they want to pursue Deion Sanders.

Dallas has requested to interview Seattle assistant head coach Leslie Frazier for its head coaching vacancy, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Dallas Morning News. Frazier would be the second known name in the Cowboys’ search, joining former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

NFL insider Adam Schefter added another person to the list of potential new Dallas Cowboys head coaches. Besides Deion Sanders, Schefter said that former All-Pro tight end Jason Witten could find his way back to AT&T Stadium this offseason.

Interestingly enough, Moore would not be the first Latter-day Saint head coach for the Cowboys. Dave Campo coached in Dallas from 2000-02, after converting to the faith during his stint at Weber State in the 1980s. Moore’s Eagles are currently in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs and will host Puka Nacua’s Los Angeles Rams Sunday afternoon.

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is reportedly a candidate to be promoted to head coach following Mike McCarthy's departure.
