With the axle unbolted, we'll tear it down to the bare housing minus the pinion. The C-clip axles are fairly new and in excellent shape, so they'll get recycled into another Camaro project soon.

Open up the center case, free up the pinion pin, push the axleshafts inward, remove the C-clips, and reassemble the rear axle using the safety hub and sealed press-on axle bearings.

To remove this clip requires removal of the differential cover, and may require partial disassembly of the carrier itself depending on the specific type of differential in the axle.
