"They're illegal. You can't possess them, and they turn a regular handgun into almost a machine-style weapon," said Captain Marcus Thirlkill of the Detroit Police Department.

In the complaint, Attorney General Ellison outlines that Glock has known since its creation in 1988 that its semi-automatic handguns can be easily converted into illegal machine guns.

Alabama lawmakers debated and did not vote in support of legislation that would have criminalized, under state law, the possession of a Glock switch despite the wishes of law enforcement.
