The Pickett Fire in California's Napa County grew Friday afternoon near Calistoga, reaching more than 3,000 acres, the largest fire in the Bay Area since last year.

A fire burning near Silverado Trail wineries prompted evacuation orders in Napa County. The Pickett Fire was reported around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, off Pickett Road, near Calistoga. By Friday afternoon, it had burned 3,235 acres (5 square miles) with 5% containment, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.

The wildfire has primarily moved east through sparsely populated territory last burned in 2020. No structures have been lost and containment stood at 7% late Friday.
