The comedian was told that her 3-month-old brother’s death was due to a crib malfunction. Well into adulthood, her dad made a heartbreaking confession.

“My dad had a heartbreaking childhood,” Silverman told the publication. “His dad beat the s**t out of him every day, just mercilessly. He had a younger brother who wasn’t touched. His father made the kids call him Mr. Silverman.”

Silverman’s new Netflix special, PostMortem, deals with her parents’ deaths. Her mother Beth died in 2015, while her father Donald died in 2023. Silverman has two sisters, Susan and Laura, the latter of whom once played her sister on The Sarah Silverman Project .
