The "Ranch Fire" started just after 2:30 p.m. near Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Trail, south of Apple Valley, according to Cal Fire. The fire was first reported at approximately 80 acres.
In an announcement posted on social media, Cal Fire officials reported the Ranch fire south of Apple Valley around 2 p.m. By 4 p.m., the fire had grown to 1,533 acres.
The blaze, dubbed the Ranch Fire, was first reported about 1:35 p.m. in the area of Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Trail, just south of Apple Valley, according to Apple Valley Fire Department logs.
The fire started around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Apple Valley in San Bernardino County, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
