Kirby Air Riders, coming to Switch 2 in November, bucks every kart racer convention and could barely be described as a racing game at times.
As for the game itself, it's a follow-up to Kirby Air Ride - a racing spin-off for the titular character that released on GameCube over 20 years ago - and sees characters riding on magical stars around courses, sucking up enemies for special abilities, and speed boosting around colourful courses.
What do you know about Kirby? Well, he's round, he's pink. And he can suck up and eat just about anything, and steal whatever powers that thing has. For over 30 years, no one else in Nintendo's roster has tried to do what Kirby does.
Masahiro Sakurai revealed during the Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct that Bandai Namco and his own studio worked in tandem on the game.
